How to Purchase a Universe Card Reader

Selling tickets and managing your event at the door is easy with Universe’s Ticket Manager app. Ticket Manager is available for free on the App Store (Apple) and Google Play (Android).

Note: To check people in at the door, Apple devices need iOS 6+ and to scan tickets at the door, devices need iOS 7+. Android devices needs 3.0+.

To sell tickets at the door, simply type in payment details or use a Universe credit card reader to process payments. Because Ticket Manager is a mobile app, your staff can accept donations anywhere during your event. See our guide on selling tickets at the door to learn more.

How to Purchase a Universe Card Reader


1. Visit shop.universe.com


2. Choose one of the following options from the “Card Reader” drop-down menu:
  • Purchase: $45
  • 1 Week Rental: Free + $45 Deposit
  • 30 Day Rental: $10 + $45 Deposit
  • 90 Day Rental $20 + $45 Deposit

3. Choose the number of card readers you wish to purchase or rent from the “Quantity” drop-down menu.

4. ​Click “Add to Cart”. You will be redirected to your shopping cart. If you ever need to access your shopping cart, click the “Cart” icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

4. Verify that the order type (purchase or rental) is correct in the “Product” column, and verify that the quantity of each order type is correct in the “Quantity” column. You can edit these fields and click “Update Cart” to change your order type and quantity.

5. ​Click “Check Out”.

6. ​Fill out the Customer Information and Shipping Address fields. Shipping rates are as follows:
  • 3-10 Day Standard Shipping (Canada): Free
  • 2-3 Day Rush Shipping (Canada): $75 USD
  • 3-10 Day Standard Shipping (USA): $20
  • 2-3 Day Rush Shipping (USA): $40

NOTE: If your shipping address is outside of North America, please contact sales@universe.com
NOTE: If ordering multiple card readers at the same time, you will only be charged shipping once for your order. 


7. Choose either Standard (3-10 days) or Rush (2-3 days) Shipping.


8. Click “Continue to payment method”.

9. Choose whether your billing address is same or different than the shipping address.

10. Click “Complete order” and log into your PayPal account to complete your purchase. Or, pay with a debit or credit card using PayPal secure checkout.


Note: PayPal Express Checkout assesses a fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction.
 
You will receive an automated order summary email once you have completed your purchase, and you will receive another email once our team ships your order.

If you are renting a card reader, the rental period begins exactly 7 days after the time you are emailed your shipping confirmation. The rental period extends for the duration indicated in your order summary. If the card reader is not postmarked for return by the end of the rental period, Universe reserves the right to withhold your deposit of $45.
