How To Promote Your Event

The promote page of your event will allow you access and manage our built-in promotion tools, including social deals, SEO, discount codes, affiliate tracking, Facebook integration, and access other promotional tools for your event. The article, will provide an overview to help you navigate your Promote page. 
 

To Promote your event:

1. Log-in to your Universe account, head over to your dashboard, find the event you want to manage, and click on it. 

2. Select the 'Promote' tab from the task bar located directly above your event page.
 


3. To navigate through the 'Promote' page of your event, use the menu on the left side of the page. 

a) Promote OverviewThis page will allow you to easily copy your custom URL, open in a new window, change your event privacy to between public/hidden as needed and connect your social networks (Facebook, Google+, and Twitter) so your connections and their friends can discover your events.

NOTE: Setting a custom URL or editing your existing custom URL must be done from the 'Edit' page of your event. 
 


b) Invitations: This page allows you to send invitations to potential attendees. Link up your Twitter or upload email contacts to reach a wide audience. You can also send invitations to your contacts on Universe.

c) Social Deals: The social deals promotion tool allows you to encourage people to share your event on Twitter or Google+ by offering a discount in exchange for social media posts about the event (social deals).
 

 

d) Publisher Network: Set whether or not you'd like your event to show in Universe's event directory and our partner websites. Use the dropdown menu to select your preference. This is on by default for public events and off by default for private events. Note that your event will always be visible to people who have the link. 
 

e) SEO: Add tags or key words to your event to improve the search engine optimization for your event page. This helps your page appear higher in search results. 


f) Discount Codes: From the discount codes page, you can create and manage discount coupon codes for your event. You can create as many coupon codes as needed, customize the discount % or $ amount and quantity available for each, determine which ticket types each code can be applied to, and set which tickets accept or do not accept discounts. Discount codes can be added individually or uploaded in bulk from a CSV.

g) Access Keys: This page allows you to create password protected ticket types. Use access keys to control who can see and book certain ticket types by making them visible only to people with the code.    
 

h) Affiliate Tracking: From the affiliate tracking page, you can set up referral tracking links to track sales purchased from a specific source or promoter. Codes can be added individually or in bulk from a csv.
 

i) Facebook Integration: Integrate your Universe event with Facebook to create a 'Buy Tickets' tab and sell tickets directly on Facebook. Friends will be able to purchase tickets on your group or event page without being redirected away from Facebook.
